This week’s artist was co-star of the original “True Grit”,at the behest of star John Wayne, no less!

He became a touring member with the Beach Boys for a stretch when Brian Wilson first retired from the road in 1964 and his albums include Big Bluegrass Special, Burning Bridges and he recorded an album with Bobby Gentry

Latterly he toured with sons Cal and Shannon and daughter Ashley

The documentary that chronicles his battle with Alzheimer’s is available on DVD and is entitled ” I’ll Be Me”
